A method for redirecting an S101 tunnel and device thereof are disclosed in the embodiments of the present invention. In the way that a target mobility management entity of the first network obtains the identification information of a target access network of a second network provided by a target base station of a first network and establishes the S101 tunnel with the second network according to the identification information, because the identification information of the target access network of the second network is provided by the target base station of the first network, it is ensured to enable the routing of the target mobility management entity of the first network to the target access network of the second network, thereby the invalidation of the redirected S101 tunnel is avoided.
