The device has a dental replica (2) mounted in a strainer (5) situated in a place of a missing tooth when the strainer is adapted on a patient to be treated, where shape of the replica is similar to that of a crown of the missing tooth to be replaced by a dental implant. The replica has housing (3) managed along geometric axis of the replica to coincide with geometrical axis of the missing tooth when the strainer is adapted on the patient to be treated. A radio-opaque stud (7) is mounted along axis of the housing of the replica. An independent claim is also included for a method for determining drilling axis to install a dental implant of a patient.
