METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR IMPLEMENTING CS SERVICE HANDOVER UNDER THE EPS NETWORK ACCESS MODE

A method for implementing circuit switched domain service handover under the evolved packet switched domain system network access mode is provided in the present invention, the mobility management entity MME of the system which implements the method is configured with the neighboring cell index and the corresponding MSC address number list, the method comprises: the base station transmits a handover request to the mobility management entity MME, the said handover request carries the target cell index; the said MME receives the said handover request, and transmits the handover request to the interworking function IWF; the said IWF receives the said handover request, and obtains the target mobile switching center, i.e. the target MSC address number which is corresponding to the target cell index; the said IWF initiates the handover to the target MSC based on the obtained target MSC address number. A successful handover of the CS service under the EPS network access mode is guaranteed by the method and system of the present invention.
