The present invention refers to a method for detecting soluble adhesion molecules, especially sVCAM-1, sICAM-1 and/or sE-selectin. The use of FCS or FCCS for detecting, analyzing or quantifying of soluble adhesion molecules being dissolved in a sample allows for assessing the risks or the progression of coronary artery disease.
