The method involves capturing a portion of energy provided by an attacker (1) during an attack (2), in an energy reserve i.e. battery (7), when the energy reserve attains a threshold, where the threshold is calculated based on an action of counter attack. The energy reserve is utilized for executing the action of counter attack, where the action of counter attack erases a portion of erasable memory of an electronic device (5). Physical attacks are carried out against the electronic device when the energy is not supplied to the device. An independent claim is also included for an electronic device comprising a processor and non-volatile memory.
