Jacquard heald with embossed heald eye area

The heald (1) has an elongate heald body made from round material e.g. round wire and plastic, and including a shaft having a flattened section (9). The flattened section is provided with an expanded opening (16), which is limited by two side pieces (14, 15). A surface area of round cross section of the shaft extensively corresponds with a sum of surface areas of the cross section of the side pieces. A yarn eye insert (6) is mounted in the opening. A non-protected flattened intermediate section (9a) is attached to an axial end at the opening.
