Method of deterministic transmission of time critical and time noncritical data on a shared data channel

The method involves marking time-critical and time-uncritical data packets by two sets of start and end markings, respectively. Transmission of the time-uncritical data packets is interrupted and the transmission of the time-uncritical data packets is accepted, during arrival of the time-critical data packets at a multiplexer and transmission of the time-critical data packets via a common data channel (DSL). A separation marking is inserted, after complete transmission of the time-critical data packets. Transmission of the interrupted time-uncritical data packets is continued. An independent claim is also included for a system with components for implementing a method for deterministic transmission of time-critical and time-uncritical transmission of data packets, via a common transmission channel.
