The method involves providing a coupler (CP1) and connecting the coupler to a contact communication port (P1) of a processor e.g. near field communication controller (NFCC). Another coupler (CP1) is provided and connected to a contact communication port (P2) of another processor e.g. safe subscriber identity module (SIM) card processor (SP1). A contactless coupling e.g. inductive coupling, is established between the couplers. Data carrying signals (TX1, TX2) are transferred to the communication ports of the processors using the couplers, respectively. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for conducting a transaction between a host processor of a near field communication controller and a near field communication device (2) a device for processing and transferring data.
