Oligonucleotides (ON) for genotyping and pathotyping of Pseudomonas aeruginosaare new. Oligonucleotides (ON) for genotyping and pathotyping of Pseudomonas aeruginosaare: (a) any of 114 sequences, reproduced; (b) sequences with at least 60, especially 96, % base correspondence with (a) and able to hybridize specifically with nucleic acid sequences in P. aeruginosa; (c) sequences that differ from (a) or (b) by an extension of at least one nucleotide; or (d) sequences that hybridize, under stringent conditions, with the complements of (a)-(c). Independent claims are also included for: (1) a microarray that comprises, immobilized at predetermined locations on a carrier, oligonucleotide probes for specific detection of P. aeruginosa; and (2) specific detection of P. aeruginosaby contacting a test sample with the microarray of (1) and detecting interaction between the probes and nucleic acid in the sample.
