VARIABLE GEAR RATIO STEERING SYSTEM TO REDUCE MANUFACTURING COST DUE TO THE CHEAP PROCESSING COST OF A PINION

PURPOSE: A variable gear ratio steering system is provided to change the gear ratio of a steering according to the steering of the steering wheel by controlling screw threads of a pinion.;CONSTITUTION: A variable gear ratio steering system comprises a pinion(10), an adjust bolt(20), and a fixing nut(30). The pinion rotates with a stirring shaft(3) and reciprocates along the longitudinal direction of the stirring shaft. The pinion is coupled with the stirring shaft. The gap of screw threads(13) of the outer circumference surface is gradually tapered from the center to both ends, so the pinion engages with a rack(7). The adjust bolt is integrally coupled with the pinion. The fixing nut is fixed on the gearbox housing. The fixing nut is screwed with the adjust bolt.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
