PURPOSE: A 3D pointing device with a 3D accelerometer and a method of generating pointer control information, an electronic device and a method of controlling a pointer and executing a function in the electronic device are provided to control a pointer of an electronic device screen and execute various functions of the electronic device through only an output value of the 3D accelerometer, thereby reducing manufacturing costs and calculation processes of the device.;CONSTITUTION: A controller obtains acceleration values about three axes of a 3D pointing device by a 3D acceleration sensor(S110). The controller obtains gradient information of the 3D pointing device by the acceleration values about three axes. The controller maps the gradient angle on a screen of the electronic device in consideration of screen resolution of the electronic device.
