PURPOSE: Interpenetrating polymer network hydrogel beads are provided to retain the advantage of poly(ethylene glycol) hydrogel, to improve mechanical strength, and to semi-permanently fix enzyme with functional groups in which enzyme chemically covalently can bond.;CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing an interpenetrating polymer network hydrogel beads comprises the steps of manufacturing poly(ethylene glycol) hydrogel beads; and preparing interpenetrating polymer network hydrogel beads by adding polyacrylamide to the poly(ethylene glycol) hydrogel beads. A method for fixing enzyme on the hydrogel comprises the steps of: preparing an interpenetrating hydrogel; activating functional groups of the hydrogel; and fixing enzyme by inducing a covalent bond of the activated hydrogel and enzyme.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
