PURPOSE: A rail monitoring system and a control method thereof are provided to prevent an accident due to the rail defect by monitoring the state of the rail remotely through a train system.;CONSTITUTION: A train system(100) is installed in a train. A train system includes an image photographing unit(110), a position detector(150), a train operation switch unit(120), a train wireless communication unit(130), and a train controller(140). The image photographing unit photographs the rail. The position detector detects the rail monitoring position. The train operation switch unit is operated by a user. The train wireless communication unit performs the monitoring system and the wireless communication. The train controller controls the operation of the image photographing unit, the position detector, the train operation switch unit, and the train wireless communication unit.
