PURPOSE: A purification apparatus for removing iron and manganese and a purification method using the same are provided to purify the iron, the manganese and other foreign materials in raw water effectively. CONSTITUTION: A purification apparatus for removing iron and manganese includes an aeration tank(100), a raw water reaction paper(400), and biological filtering paper(300). The aeration tank supplies dissolved oxygen to the biological filtering paper. The aeration tank includes an aerator, a dissolved oxygen densitometer or an oxidation reduction potential measuring device, and a control part. The purification apparatus further includes a reaction sedimentation bath(200) installed at a rear end of the aeration tank.
