PURPOSE: A character recognition apparatus of a mobile communication terminal having a camera and a method thereof are provided to reduce a slope of a character included in an image obtained through a camera by measuring the slop in real time and performing an interaction with a user.;CONSTITUTION: An image processing unit(110) performs a binarization process for an image. The image processing unit searches a top point for characters included in the image. The image processing unit measures a slope of the characters by using the top point of the searched characters. The measured slop is compared with an allowable range. A character recognizing unit(130) performs a character recognition process for the binarized image when the measured slope belongs to the allowable range.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
