Virtual security coprocessor framework supports the creation of at least one device model to mimic the predetermined cryptographic coprocessor. In one embodiment, it uses a cryptographic coprocessor in the virtual security coprocessor framework processing system to generate an instance of the device model (DM) in a processing system. DM can be based at least in part to the predetermined device model design. DM can emulate a predetermined cryptographic coprocessor in accordance with the control logic of the device model design. In one embodiment, the virtual security coprocessor networks use a physical trusted platform module (TPM) in the processing system to support one or more virtual TPM (vTPM) for at least one virtual machine in the processing system.
