A remote meter reading system and remote checking method are provided, which enable to check past monthly used amount and rental fee and current monthly used amount and rental fee. A remote meter reading system comprises the facility meter(1), the remote inspection terminal(2), and the inspection meter server(3). The facility meter is installed by each family. The facility meter measures one or more used amount of the electricity, gas, waterworks, heating, and warm water of a family. The facility meter outputs the meter signal according to the used amount. The remote inspection terminal is communication-contacted to the facility meter. The remote inspection terminal indicates data for the used amount and monthly rental fee. The inspection meter server is communication-contacted to the remote inspection terminal. The inspection meter server transmits the monthly rental fee and used amount data to the remote inspection terminal. The inspection meter server decides the telemetering program.
