METHOD FOR BOOSTING A DISPLAY IMAGE, A CONTROLLER UNIT THEREOF AND A DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME, CAPABLE OF PREVENTING THE INCREASE OF THE BRIGHTNESS AROUND A BOOSTING REGION

PURPOSE: A method for boosting a display image is provided to prevent a light spread phenomenon around a boosting region by converting the data corresponding to a peripheral region to reduce brightness in the peripheral region.;CONSTITUTION: Image data from the outside is analyzed. It is determined whether the image data satisfies a boosting condition set fro increasing the brightness in a boosting region. If the image data satisfies the boosting condition, the brightness of a signal corresponding to the boosting region is increased. The peripheral data corresponding to the peripheral region is converted into the conversion image data among the image data to reduce the brightness in the peripheral region adjacent to the boosting region. The data corresponding to the entire region except the peripheral region among the image data is converted with a reference gamma curve. The peripheral data is converted with a conversion gamma curve for displaying the image with darker brightness than the reference gamma curve.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
