PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for estimating the deterioration of battery are provided to improve the accuracy of SOH by using an estimated SOC from driving voltage of a battery. CONSTITUTION: A data storage module(201) stores a battery voltage, current, and temperature data from a voltage sensing unit, a current sensing unit, and a temperature sensing unit. A first SOC estimating unit(202) uses stored battery current data and estimates the first SOC through a current accumulation method. A second SOC estimating unit(203) estimates an open circuit voltage by using the stored driving voltage. The second SOC corresponding to the temperature of battery and the estimated open voltage is calculated or stored by using correlation between the open circuit voltage and the temperature.
