AG/AGCL REFERENCE ELECTRODE WHICH CAN REPLACE EXISTING POROUS GLASS USING ASBESTOS FIBER

PURPOSE: An Ag/Agcl reference electrode using asbestos fiber is provided to ensure a simple processing method, to easily obtain inexpensive materials, to be simply be copied, and to be widely used in an analysis field.;CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a reference electrode using asbestos fiber comprises the following steps of: preparing a glass capillary tube; inserting an asbestos bunch in the glass capillary tube and cutting the end portion of the asbestos bunch; welding the end portion by heating the asbestos bunch with an alcohol lamp; injecting a KCl supersaturated solution in the capillary tube with an injector; putting placing a strong HCl solution and silver wire bunch into a beaker and applying an electric potentialal field to plate silver wire with Cl; connecting the end of the Cl-plated silver wire to with copper wire and then insulating the part except excluding the silver wire with a manicure; inserting the only the Cl-plated wire in the capillary tube; and insulating the capillary tube with a manicure or para film.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
