PURPOSE: A defect image classification method of articles continuously produced to a roll type or a sheet type through image processing is provided to accurately classify defects detected from the surface of articles.;CONSTITUTION: A defect image classification method of articles continuously produced to a roll type or a sheet type through image processing is as follows. The surfaces of articles continuously produced to a roll type or a sheet type are photographed. And the images of the surfaces, which have defects, are classified into kinds of the defects. Feature tables, composed of feature vectors, are formed by image-processing the classified images(S10). The photographed image data are input(S20). The feature vectors are extracted by image-processing the images data(S30). The feature vectors of each defect, which are approximate to the feature vectors of the feature tables, are searched(S40).
