PURPOSE: A channel switching method for a digital television is provided to perform a channel switch of the digital television to a channel matching the preference of a user.;CONSTITUTION: A channel switching method for a digital television comprises the following steps: inputting a channel switch key(S10); determining whether or not a channel switch mode by a current program genre is selected by a controlling unit(S20); changing the channel into a corresponding channel number by the operation of the controlling unit when the channel switch mode by the current program genre is not selected(S40); and changing the channel into a channel airing the same genre program with the current channel when the channel switch mode by the current program genre is selected(S30).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
