PURPOSE: A simultaneous localization and mapping device for a robot and a method thereof are provided to increase the stability and accuracy of simultaneous localization and mapping by reducing nonlinear components.;CONSTITUTION: A simultaneous localization and mapping device for a robot comprises a conversion unit(201) and an updating unit(202). The conversion converts two dimension location of observed feature information into the three dimensional location. The updating unit updates registered feature information comparing the three dimensional location of the observed feature information and three dimensional position of the registered information.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
