PURPOSE: A cavitation damage prevention apparatus of a diesel engine fuel injection pump is provided to prevent cavitation generated before or after the opening of a barrel port at the late stage of fuel compression by employing a constant pressure valve installed in a deflector or barrel of a fuel injection pump.;CONSTITUTION: A cavitation damage prevention apparatus of a diesel engine fuel injection pump comprises a constant pressure valve(110) including a valve member(111) which shuts a barrel port(104) to raise the internal pressure at the initial state of fuel compression by an upward motion of a plunger(103), a valve housing(112) which is installed in a deflector(106) or a barrel(102) of a pump housing(101) to support the valve member, and a spring(113) which is installed between the valve member and the valve housing to support the valve member.
