PURPOSE: A system for managing an active-x in a server based computing system of a terminal environment and a method therefor are provided to smooth the use of the Internet through a terminal service by smoothly providing the use of an Active X in a terminal service. CONSTITUTION: An Active X monitoring server(110) monitors the installation of an Active X by an administrator in real time. If a terminal session senses the installation of the Active X by a user, terminal servers(170-1 to 170-N) acquires the information on the Active X from a storage unit(130). The terminal server registers the registry for the Active X to a location operating system, and records the storage location of the identical Active X file of the second storage unit as the reference path of the Active X to the registry.
