PURPOSE: A method to determine the congestion level of an internet gateway in a wireless mesh network is provided to consider a maximum queue length of IGW(Internet Gateway), thereby determining the relative congestion level between IGWs.;CONSTITUTION: All of the IGW(Internet Gateway) in WMN(Wireless Mesh Network) uses average queue length as standard of congestion level. The IGW continuously monitors the average queue length of downlink which faces MRs(Mesh Routers). Each IGW broadcasts the average queues length and ratio of maximum queue length into a network instead of average queue length. IGW1 calculates congestion as 0.5/1, IGW2 calculates congestion as 0.5/10. The calculated congestion levels is reported to the MR.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
