PURPOSE: A digital image processing apparatus, a tracking method, a recording medium storing a program for implementing the method, and a digital image processing device using the method are provided to quickly and accurately track a location of a specific subject in video.;CONSTITUTION: A similarity calculating unit(52) calculates similarity with a reference image about each of matching images of the same size as the reference image as one part of a current frame image. A target image determining unit(54) uses similarities that the similarity calculating unit obtains to determine one of the matching images as a target image. The similarity calculating unit calculates similarity by giving a larger weighted value to other data than luminance data.
