PURPOSE: A digital photographing device and a control method thereof, and a recording medium storing a program for the control method are provided to obtain an image matched with the intention of a user without respect to motion of a subject or appearing of a new subject. CONSTITUTION: When relative positions of subjects in one image of one image data are different from relative positions of subjects in the other images of the other image data, a data replacement unit(54) modifies the other image data though one image data so that the relative positions of the subjects in the other images of the other image data become the same as the relative positions of the subjects in the one image of the one image data. When the relative positions of the subjects in the one image of the one image data are same as the relative positions of the subjects in the other images of the other image data, the data replacement unit replaces the one image data with the other image data.
