PURPOSE: A noncoherent detection device for an IEEE 802.15.4 LR-WPAN BPSK receiver and a method thereof are provided to effectively obtain a symbol timing by increasing a little amount of calculation.;CONSTITUTION: A delay part(410) delays a received signal. A conjugate complex value output part(420) outputs the conjugate complex value of the delayed received signal. A multiplication part(430) multiples the output signal of the conjugate complex value output part and the received signal. A differential phase signal, which is an output signal of the multiplication part, is saved in a buffer part(440) according to a chip unit. A cross correlation part(450) multiples the output signal of the multiplication part and a correlation sequence according to a chip unit. An adding part(460) adds the output of each multiplier comprising the cross correlation part. A frequency offset estimating part(480) presumes the frequency offset from the entire preamble.
