PURPOSE: A traffic information providing system and a method thereof using a mobile terminal for providing traffic information by setting location information of the mobile terminal as a destination are provided to increase the convenience of a user by supplying a traffic condition about the route by using the location information.;CONSTITUTION: A traffic information server(300) collects traffic information according to each section. A navigation server(400) sets up location information of a user mobile terminal as a departure location. The navigation server sets up the location information of the arbitrary mobile terminal as a destination location. The navigation server generates one or more route information between the departure location and the destination location.
