A method for evaluating friction property of steel using cup drawing experiment is provided to improve accuracy in estimating the friction property by correcting an error due to the thickness and material of steel. A method for evaluating friction property of steel using cup drawing experiment comprises a step of calculating a maximum punching force variation by measuring the maximum punching force according to blank holding force while varying the blank holding force, and a step of evaluating the frictional property of steel by applying the rate of the blank holder force variation to the friction coefficient measurement. The blank holding force controls the input of material for manufacturing a circular cup. In the cup drawing experiment, the input of material is controlled by applying a test load to a blank holder so as to make a die and a specimen contact. The circular specimen is processed into a cup-shaped product when a punch is pushed up.
