A composition for treating atopic dermatitis through immune response and inflammation is provided to inhibit the immune response of type Th1 and type Th2 and NF-kB. A composition for treating atopic dermatitis comprises one or more herb medicine selected from Prunus mume Sieb. extract, Atractyodis Rhizoma extract, Sophora flavescens Aiton extract, and Cimicifyga foetida L. extract. The herb medicine is extracted with water, ethanol, butanol, ethylacetate, hexane or their mixture. The composition is used in a form of tablet, powder, capsule, granule, pill, liquid, suspension, ointment, lotion type agent, pack, soap, and cleansing foam. Medicinal and pharmaceutical agent, food, cosmetic comprise the composition for treating atopic dermatitis.
