PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for estimation of channel information using a frequency domain and a space domain orthogonal transformation are provided to improve a channel estimation ability in consideration of reduction of channel distortion and background noise. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus and a method for estimation of channel information using a frequency domain and a space domain orthogonal transformation, an initial channel estimator(110) estimates a primary channel value of a subcarrier of an OFDM signal and a multi receiving antenna based on an OFDM signal received through a multi receiving antenna. An orthogonal transform unit(120) produces an orthogonal transform value by transform a primary channel value of the initial channel estimator with a frequency domain and a spatial domain orthogonal. The frequency domain orthogonal transform can be performed by an inverse fast Fourier transform module. An alternation unit(130) selects orthogonal transform values of orthogonal transform values of the orthogonal transform unit from high values.
