Ethernet/SDH translator and method of furnishing each subscriber with distinctive QoS Service

An Ethernet/SDH translator and a method of furnishing each subscriber with a distinctive QoS are provided to differentiate QoS according to service ranks requested by users, thereby minimizing a frame loss caused by burst traffic while magnifying utility of network resources. An 8B/10B decoder(301) receives an Ethernet frame including a priority value and VLAN(Virtual LAN) ID information, and line-decodes the received Ethernet frame. An MAC processor(304) extracts the priority value and the VLAN ID information from the decoded frame. A frame controller(310) compares an assigned bandwidth of an Ethernet subscriber terminal with substantial traffic, and determines whether to transmit the Ethernet frame. A path interface(312) determines a transmission path matched with the extracted priority value and the VLAN ID. A VCAT(Virtual Concatenation) processor(307) assigns the bandwidth to the frame such that the frame can be transmitted along the determined transmission path. An SDH processor(308) SDH-processes the frame, and sends the processed frame.
