PURPOSE: A digital broadcast service system using an Ethernet protocol and its digital broadcast data transmission method are provided to transmit MPEG data at a high speed and effectively use bandwidth. CONSTITUTION: A broadcast data server(20) generates a broadcast data packet by inserting broadcast channel information into a source address field of an Ethernet communication packet format and a MAC address of a receiver into a destination address field of the Ethernet communication packet. An OLT(Optical Line Terminal)(30) receives the broadcast data packet and transmits it to an ONU(Optical Network Unit)(40). A storing unit of the ONU(40) stores broadcast channel information to be transmitted to a plurality of subscriber premises units(50) and a switching table including MAC address information of each channel. The second L2 switch(45) of the ONU(40) transmits the broadcast data packet provided from the broadcast data server(20) to a corresponding subscriber unit(50) and switches a broadcast channel according to a broadcast channel change request from the subscriber premises unit(50). The subscriber premises unit(50) inserts a previously allocated MAC address into the source address field of the Ethernet communication packet format and the broadcast channel information to be changed into the destination address field, and transmits them to the second L2 switch(45).
