PURPOSE: A sudden acceleration preventing system for a vehicle is provided to fundamentally prevent sudden acceleration by reducing the RPM of an engine, so that a vehicle can slow down.;CONSTITUTION: A sudden acceleration preventing system for a vehicle comprises an electronic control unit(200), first and second relay switches(310,320), a third relay switch(330), a sudden acceleration prevention unit(340), a fourth relay switch(360), and an auxiliary pedal unit(370). The electronic control unit supplies electricity to a fuel injection system(210) and an electric ignition device(220) during engine starting, respectively. The first and second relay switches supply electricity to a fuel injection system or an electric ignition device through an electronic control unit. The third relay switch supplies electricity to the first and second relay switches from the electronic control unit. The acceleration prevention unit supplies electricity to the third relay switch if the RPM of an engine is higher than fixed RPM after engine starting.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
