FIELD: metallurgy.;SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing of powders of aluminium and metal oxide in stoichiometric quantities, application of mixture of powders to the surface of aluminium or its alloy, and performance of aluminothermic interaction reaction of the above powders. As aluminium powder, there used is stabilised nanodisperse aluminium powder with particle size of 3 nm to 100 nm. As metal oxide powder, there used are nanodisperse powders of metal oxides with particle size of 5 nm to 100 nm in stoichiometric quantities. At that, aluminothermic reaction is carried out in presence of initiating agent - stabilised nanodisperse magnesium powder at component ratio (aluminium + metal oxide)/Mg=10/(1-10).;EFFECT: acceleration of aluminothermic reaction, obtaining complete and uniform coating as to density.;2 cl, 3 tbl
