FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrochemical production, particularly to a method of obtaining organonickel sigma-complexes of general formula [NiBr(Ar)(bpy)], where Ar=2,4,6-trimethylphenyl (Mes), 2,4,6-triisopropylphenyl (Tipp), 2,6-dimethylphenyl (Xy); bpy=2,2'-bipyridyl, which can be used in catalytic oligomerisation of ethylene. The electrochemical method of obtaining organonickel sigma-complexes of formula [NiBr(Ar)(bpy)] involves electrolysis of a solution of ortho-substituted aromatic bromide (ArBr) and a nickel-containing compound in dimethylformamide in a diaphragmless cell. The solution also contains 2,2'-bipyridyl (bpy) and the nickel-containing compound used is NiBr2. The ortho-substituted aromatic bromide is 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl bromide or 2,4,6-triisopropylphenyl bromide or 2,6-dimethylphenyl bromide in molar ratio reagents NiBr2 : bpy : ArBr = 1 : (1-3) : (1-30).Electrolysis is carried out using a soluble nickel anode at 20°-70°C and cathode current density of 1.0-2.0 mA/cm2.;EFFECT: possibility of highly efficient synthesis of organonickel sigma-complexes at constant electrochemical parametres.;2 cl, 44 ex, 2 tbl
