The apparatus has an optical enlargement device with an enlargement lens (7) and a head band for fixing the apparatus at the head and for positioned holding of enlargement lens in field of vision in front of the head. An illuminating unit (10) illuminates a region enlarged by the enlargement lens. The illuminating unit has multiple light sources (11) that are circumferentially arranged around the enlargement lens. The light sources are formed of LEDS such as white light LEDs and are arranged at same distance from each other.
