The fabric has a liquid impermeable sheet provided with absorbent pad, and a front part (1) provided with lateral bands. An elongated intermediate part (2) is provided with a pocket (24) containing the absorbent pad and serving as a suspended excretion collector. A reinforced rear part (3) is provided with lateral tabs and a round rear notch that permits passage of a straightened tail of an animal carrying the fabric. Closures are placed on the bands and the tabs to connect the rear part with the front part of the fabric.
