The method involves taking a partially amorphous material, and forming a preform using the material. Dice are heated between a glass transition temperature and a crystallization temperature. The preform is placed between the dice, and a pressure is exerted on the preform using the dice for a preset time so as to reproduce shapes of the dice on faces of the preform to form a timepiece element. The element is cooled so as to conserve the partially amorphous state and to solidify the element, and the element is retrieved.
