A sample extrusion (2) is continuously derived from a finished mixture and, if required, shaped in the form of a strip and guided over a heated section (3). Afterwards, a shear modulus for an extruded or strip-shaped sample (4) is acquired either continuously or at regular intervals. The sample extrusion is derived from the finished mixture before an extruder (1) head emerges. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining a shear modulus inline for an elastomer or rubber mixture continuously produced or processed in a combining extruder or an extruder.
