Method for extracting metal from the corresponding oxides through solar energy, comprises converting an oxide of a noble metal such as hydrogen or a mixture of different noble oxides into solid or liquid metal and oxygen by supplying heat
The method comprises converting an oxide of a noble metal such as hydrogen or a mixture of different noble oxide into solid or liquid metal and oxygen at below 2500[deg] C by supplying heat, converting a metal halogenide to metal and halogen through thermal conversion by heat energy, carrying out a thermo chemical cycle process for manufacturing the metal halogenide or a mixture of different metal halogenide, and regenerating the metal halogenide in the cycle process through supply of heat energy and metal oxide and the halogen formed in the conversion under release of oxygen. The method comprises converting an oxide of a noble metal such as hydrogen or a mixture of different noble oxide into solid or liquid metal and oxygen at below 2500[deg] C by supplying heat, converting a metal halogenide to metal and halogen through thermal conversion by heat energy, carrying out a thermo chemical cycle process for manufacturing the metal halogenide or a mixture of different metal halogenide, regenerating the metal halogenide in the cycle process through supply of heat energy and metal oxide and the halogen formed in the conversion under release of oxygen, carrying out a net reaction in which the metal oxide and heat energy react to form oxygen and metal, obtaining an oxygen containing compound from the cycle process for the production of metal halogenide and thermally releasing the oxygen at below 1700[deg] C. The necessary heat energy is supplied through bundle solar radiation. The metal halogenide within the thermo chemical cycle process is obtained through reaction of an alkaline earth metal iodide or alkaline earth metal bromide with the metal oxide or the mixture of metal oxides. The conversion of the metal halogenide to the metal is carried out at high temperature by hydrogen, which reacts to the hydrogen halogenide which is thermo chemically converted.
