Preparation of hydrogen peroxide comprises reacting hydrogen with oxygen in the presence of a noble metal catalyst in a liquid reaction medium, where the reaction is carried out in the presence of sulfuric acid alkyl esters. Independent claims are included for: (1) a hydrogen peroxide solution comprising 2-15 wt.% of hydrogen peroxide, 0.5-2 wt.% of water, 60-95 wt.% of methanol, 10 -6-10 -2 mol/l of bromide and 10 -6-0.1 mol/l of dimethylsulfate and/or monomethylsulfate; and (2) preparation of an epoxide comprising reacting olefins with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of zeolites containing titanium as a catalyst, where the hydrogen peroxide is used in the form of a solution.
