The method involves operating an absorption refrigeration system as a heat transformer after a change of a hydraulic control of an external medium. A decompression valve (5) is bypassed for performing an absorption process by a condensate pump (7), where the pump is connected or disconnected by a valve (8) lying before or behind the pump. A low pressure fluid is circulated by a solvent pump (9). The regulation of the system is changed such that a generator (4) and a condenser (3) operate on a low pressure level and an absorber (1) and an evaporator (2) operate at a high pressure level. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for performing a method for increasing a temperature level in a circuit of a solar-thermal system or combined heat and power unit.
