The device (1) has a suction roll (3) including a perforated roller tube (4), and a separating unit (11) including a set of separating branches (12.1, 12.2) for forming different suction zones (Z.1, Z.2). One of the separating branches is fixed and arranged within the perforated roller tube, and the other separating branch is fixed and arranged with an external suction box (6). The suction zones are produced with low pressure sources (7.1, 7.2) that are connected to the external suction box and loaded using controllable/regulatable low pressure (P-u7.1, P-u7.2).
