The method involves determining a fuel loss volume which represents fuel volumes that are lost for a last operating end of a heating device up to starting from a fuel supply line, during starting of the heating device. A starting production facility of a fuel conveying arrangement is executed for conveying the fuel volume corresponding to fuel loss volumes into the fuel supply line, before beginning of combustion production facility of the fuel conveying arrangement during starting of the heating device.
