Production of green ceramic articles comprises: (A) forming a layer containing ceramic powder and a binder on a substrate; (B) applying a consolidating layer over this which contains 0.1 - 50 wt% of inorganic particles of average diameter 5 - 1000 nm and 50 - 99.9 wt% of dispersing agent; (C) repeating these stages at least twice; (D) removing some or all of the dispersing agent; and (E) removing unbound ceramic powder. Independent claims are included for: (A) green ceramic articles produced using the method; (B) producing ceramic moldings by sintering the green articles; and ceramic moldings produced using this process.
