The method involves supplying voltage to an electronic ignition lock (2) from a main battery (3), when a battery voltage of the main battery reaches a threshold value. The voltage is supplied to the ignition lock from an auxiliary battery (4), when the battery voltage falls below the threshold value. The battery voltage with the threshold value is compared with an integrated source of reference by a voltage detector component e.g. NCP301, where the detector component comprises a firm switching voltage which is adjusted to the threshold value by a voltage divider (5). An independent claim is also included for a voltage supply circuit comprising a voltage divider.
