The device has an assigning device i.e. computer, for fixing markings (1, 2, 3) at a representation of a root of a tooth. The assigning device fixes other markings at a representation of a jaw bone in response to the former markings. A display device comprising a touch-sensitive screen displays representation of the root and another display device displays representation of the jaw bone, where the representation of the root shows a root bone and the representation of the jaw bone shows a panoramic image. An independent claim is also included for a method for guiding a dentist during dental therapy of a patient.
